We now offer a range of different types of appointment, i.e. face-to-face appointments with GPs/practice nurses, telephone consultations with GPs/nurses, and telephone advice calls. On booking your appointment you may be asked to give a few details. Please do not be offended by this, it will help us to allocate you the correct appointment. Routine and emergency appointments are available every day in the morning and afternoon. If you need an urgent appointment, you will be seen as soon as possible on the day of request. Please tell the receptionist if your request is urgent. Appointments can be booked by telephone or in person at the reception desk.
Extended Hours Appointments
The practice participates in the ‘Extended Hours’ service. On some mornings we will have a few, pre-bookable appointments available between 07:00 and 08:15. These should be booked by 18:00 the previous evening. The early morning GP appointments are not suitable for intimate examinations.
The practice will not be open for normal business until 08:30 and phones will not be switched on until 08:30. These appointments may be suitable to you if you cannot attend the practice during usual working hours (08:30 – 18:00). Please ask at reception if you would like to book one of these appointments.
Access to Doctors/Nurses
In keeping with Government guidelines, we are working towards an appointment system that allows access to a doctor or nurse within 48 hours. If demand is particularly high, we may not be able to meet this. However, we guarantee to see anyone the same day if their medical condition necessitates this. Doctor/nurse appointments can be obtained between 08:30 – 13:00 and 14:00 -18:00 Monday to Friday. Appointments should be made for one person only. Should you be unable to attend or no longer require your appointment, please remember to cancel with as much notice as possible to enable us to make your appointment available to another patient.
Telephone contact can be made during these times by calling 0141-644 3511. Between 13:00 and 14:00, Monday to Friday, telephone contact should only be made in emergency medical circumstances by telephoning the surgery emergency line on 0141-644 1626.
If your medical condition requires urgent treatment, please telephone the surgery as early in the day as possible.
This organisation is committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practice is being followed at all times and the safety of everyone is of paramount importance.
All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required. This chaperone may be a family member or friend.
On occasions you may prefer a formal chaperone to be present, i.e. a trained member of staff. Wherever possible we would ask you to make this request at the time of booking appointment so that arrangements can be made and your appointment is not delayed in any way. Where this is not possible we will endeavour to provide a formal chaperone at the time of request. However occasionally it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.
Your healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations in accordance with our chaperone policy.
If you would like to see a copy of our Chaperone Policy or have any questions or comments regarding this please contact the manager.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
