We are an accredited training practice and GP trainees spend some time with us to gain experience in general practice, after which time, they are qualified to practice as a GP. FY2 Doctors are junior doctors who rotate through general practice before choosing a specialty.
Third, fourth and final year medical students and nursing students attend the practice from time to time. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. You will be informed of their presence in advance and, if you do not wish them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.
In addition to this, we also participate in the Glasgow University 'Buddy Scheme', organised by Dr Mary Jordan. This scheme provides orientation and training in general practice for first year medical students.
A final year doctor with us for one year and then qualified to practice as a GP; supervised by a senior GP whilst in the Practice
A Junior Doctor who rotates between General Practice and hospitals before choosing which area of medicine they wish to work in. They are always supervised by a senior GP.
