Welcome To Carolside Medical Centre

*** There are issues with some of our phone lines not working this morning, Mon 5th July, please bear with us as we work to resolve the issue. Apologies***

The surgery will be closed on Monday 19th July for the Glasgow Fair Holiday.

Please do not attend the surgery if you are worried you may have corona virus.

If you are worried you may have symptoms of corona virus there is plenty of useful information on the NHS inform website at This includes information on self isolation, social distancing, advice for those with underlying health conditions. You can also access a self-certificate here for self isolation.

Face Masks

For further information regarding the use of face masks please see advice here.

If you have any other health concerns not related to Corona virus the practice remains open, but we have a different way of working to protect both patients and staff.

We are changing the way we work to enable us to continue to deliver high quality medical care where and when it is needed, although this will look quite different to what you are used to.

To keep everyone as safe as possible, we are limiting access to the surgery, and will do a lot more of our consulting remotely. This includes both telephone and video-call appointments.  We will send prescriptions to a local pharmacy of your choice.

You will be able to book a remote appointment by phone up to 24 hours in advance.  If we feel we then need to see you at the surgery, this will be arranged. Reception is currently closed between 12 midday and 2pm. Routine phone enquiries will not be available during this time, however we are still available for emergency advice.

Please phone after 10am for any non-urgent queries - this allows our staff to deal with more urgent requests quickly earlier in the day.

Covid-19 Vaccinations

As the vaccination programme rolls out, information can be found online at

Alternatively you can call the COVID-19 Vaccination Helpline on 0800 030 8013 to get information and ask questions.

The practice has completed all vaccinations for the cohorts we were vaccinating. All other cohorts are being vaccinated through community centres.

If you are in a group who should have received their first dose and have not yet had this, i.e. over 40s, you can complete the NHS Inform online Missing Appointment Form to provide contact details. If you are housebound the Missing Appointment Form should be completed via this link and contact details provided along with requesting a home visit in the additional information section.

Help us stop the spread of Covid. People with no symptoms can test twice a week at any of the 3 asymptomatic testing centres in East Renfrewshire. There is also a testing centre for people with symptoms in Newton Mearns. Details at
