As we enter spring and look forward to summer we take this opportunity to update you on a few things happening at Carolside Medical Centre.
Work is about to start on creating a new clinical consulting room, being built in the corner of our waiting room. We hope that this will be completed within 4-6 weeks and so ask please that you bear with us while these works taking place. Most of the work will be done outwith normal consulting hours to avoid disruption. We trust that once this space is complete that it will help to reduce waiting times for appointments. See the location of where the new consulting room will be situated below.

Thank you for your patience as we recognise waiting times have been longer than usual which is unfortunately a sign of the pressures on GP surgeries up and down the country. We are seeing more people, with more complex issues which leads to greater pressure on the practice. Please be patient with our admin team who are doing everything they can to help you. It is nice to be nice!
It is also extremely helpful if patients can remember to cancel any appointments that are no longer needed, or indeed ensure they are able to take their planned telephone appointment. We have had an increasing number of ‘did not attends’ or individuals missing their calls which increases pressure on the system, and results in some waiting longer than we would like to see a clinician. please remember telephone appointments can be up to 30 minutes either side of the planned time.
In staffing news we congratulate our Assistant Practice Manager, Ciara, who welcomed a baby boy in December, followed by Dr Lesley Blackwood, who welcomed her own son in January. We wish both of them and their families well.
At this time we have no further updates or timescale on the planned clinical software changes but will of course let you know once we have further information.
Kind regards
Carolside Medical Centre
