X-rays

If your doctor has asked you to get an X-ray, you can present at your local X-ray department’s GP walk-in service without an appointment or letter. A ‘first come, first serve’ system operates: give your name to the receptionist who will find the doctor’s request and a radiographer will perform the requested scan. A report will be sent to your doctor within about 4 weeks’ of the scan.

  • X-rays (East Renfrewshire)

    The GP walk-in service operates at the New Victoria X-ray department located on the ground floor of the main building.

  • X-rays (Lanarkshire)

    A GP walk-in service operates at University Hospital Hairmyres’ X-ray department.

    You will need to bring the completed yellow-coloured request card from the GP to the department. Occasionally this can be emailed over to the department if the request originates from a phone or online consultation.
